We are excited to announce the auditions for “Symphonia.,” the 19th film from Mad Angel Films. It’s a near silent, yet musically driven, adventure film about the discovery of hope during the darkest of times.
Auditions will be on February 17th at the Radisson Hotel in Utica, NY from 8am to 6pm. If you are interested in auditioning, please email Matt Peters at mpeters@madangelfilms.com. Make sure to introduce yourself and include a headshot and resume if you have one. We will then set up a time for you to come in and audition. Auditions are set up by appointment only, so please make sure to set up a time to come in. This film is Non-Union and Non-Paying.
We are looking for actors who are proactive and will put in the time and effort on / off set to help make this production a success. Actors must be fully prepared and excited to be a part of this film. We are looking for actors who are also willing to help promote the film as well as themselves. This will be an adventurous production so if you love to climb mountains, explore caves and participate in stage combat while filming in amazing locations, then this film is for you!
Plot: “Symphonia” takes place in a Dystopian Society where every action by The People are controlled by The Committee. In this society music, dance, color, emotions, love making and everything deemed to be good and / or pleasurable are banned. People are genetically breed for one purpose- to service the needs of The Committee as their workforce. Rex, a young man who is a bit different from the others, dreams for something more in life. One day he bumps into a mysterious girl named Symphonia who leaves him a package. Inside are a pair of headphones. When Rex puts them on, the world around him transforms as he gets, for the first time, to see and experience the beauty of life through music. This sets up a series of events that take Rex on a grand adventure to save Symphonia from The Committee. Together, they plan to re-awaken the passion within The People and start a revolution.
Roles we are auditing for:

Rex: Male (Mid 20’s to early 30’s) Rex is different from all the others in his normal life. A dreamer born in a society where he is nothing, Rex strives for a better life that has meaning. Rex is strong willed and tries to do the right thing even if it’s against the rules of The Committee.
Symphonia: Female ( 20’s to early 30’s) Symphonia is a mystery. She, uniquely, has been gifted with a voice that, when she sings, has the power to awaken passions within The People. She is a natural leader and very caring. We are looking for someone with a background in singing for this role.
Chairman: Male (50’s to 60’s ) Leader of The Committee. A gifted individual whose power lies within his voice. He rules over society and uses his voice to control people with fear. He has a connection to Symphonia and wishes to see her end, as she threatens all that he has built. He is a cunning, cold and calculated man.
Kierie: Female (20’s to 30’s) One of the top fighters for The Resistance. She is lethal in hand to hand combat and an all around bada$$. She is determined and faithful to her cause, acting as Rex’s bodyguard on his journey to save Symphonia.
Snake Cronin: Male (40’s) Leader of The Biker Gang that lives outside of the society. He is a rough, tough, no nonsense type of guy. Once the leader of The Resistance, he has lost his way and now would rather be left alone to his inner demons rather than fight once again.
Warden Yates: Male (30’s to 50’s) A psychopath who runs the re-education center. He finds much enjoyment in the tormenting of his ever increasing supply of victims.
Commander Myrda: Female (Late 30’s to 40’s) Leader of The Resistance. She is a strong leader who puts her people’s safety ahead of her own.
